Exterior Cladding

The exterior shown features charred timber cladding, a striking architectural finish that combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. The deep charcoal colour and subtle vertical grain create a clean, modern façade that complements the large glazing and minimalist architecture of the building.

Feature Wall

A charred timber feature wall creates a bold architectural focal point that blends natural material with modern interior design. The dark, textured surface brings depth, warmth, and character to a space while maintaining a clean and sophisticated aesthetic. This style is inspired by the traditional Japanese wood preservation technique Shou Sugi Ban, also known as Yakisugi, where the surface of timber is carefully charred to enhance its durability and appearance.

Fencing

The fence in the image showcases a sleek, contemporary design using charred timber, creating a striking and durable boundary that blends modern architecture with natural materials. The boards are installed with clean, consistent spacing, producing a smooth and refined appearance that runs the full length of the pathway.

Colour forge

This design features charred timber boards finished with a range of vibrant wood stains, creating a striking combination of texture, colour, and natural grain. The charring process enhances the grain patterns, bringing out deep ridges and lines in the timber while also creating a durable surface. When different stains are applied over the charred wood, the colour settles into the grain, producing rich contrasts, dramatic highlights, and a layered visual depth.

Cladding Profiles

Profile A

A lap-joint cladding profile with:

Overall module width: 144 mm
Cover width (effective pitch): 137 mm
Overall depth: 21 mm
Angled interlocking edges at 45°
One end formed with a 7 mm upper step and 14 mm lower section
Repeating overlap arrangement provides concealed lapped joints

This profile forms a simple overlapping cladding system with a clean, continuous face.

Profile B

A stepped interlocking cladding profile with:

Overall module width: 144 mm
Cover width (effective pitch): 123 mm
Overall depth: 21 mm
Left-side stepped return with 21 mm base return and 14 mm vertical recess
Right-side interlock formed with 30 mm–35 mm stepped projection
Includes a shallow sloped transition at the upper locking feature

This profile provides a more pronounced mechanical interlock and deeper joint definition than Profile A.

Profile C

A flat-faced plank profile with:

Overall width: 144 mm
Overall depth: 21 mm
Effective cover width: 144 mm (full-width coverage)
Straight rectangular section
Butt-jointed repeating arrangement

This is the simplest cladding section, producing a flat continuous façade appearance.

Profile G

A rebated interlocking cladding profile with:

Overall module width: 144 mm
Effective pitch: 128.5 mm
Overall depth: 21 mm
Left-side rebate with 25 mm step
Right-side rebate with 16 mm return
Interlocking angled features at 65°
Stepped top-edge locking geometry at both ends

This profile forms a concealed interlocking cladding system with a more complex joint detail and tighter effective cover than Profiles A–C.

Corner Profiles

Corner Profile A

An L-shaped corner trim profile with equal external dimensions of 50 mm × 50 mm. The profile has:

A 15 mm horizontal top flange
A 15 mm vertical return leg
A 35 mm internal return on both horizontal and vertical directions
A square internal corner configuration

This profile provides a standard external corner trim for joining cladding panels at 90° corners.

Corner Profile B

An L-shaped corner trim profile with overall dimensions 50 mm × 50 mm, similar to Corner Profile A, but incorporating a chamfered edge:

10 mm chamfer at the outer corner
40 mm effective top leg beyond the chamfer
15 mm vertical return
35 mm internal return legs
Angled outer edge provides a relieved or eased corner detail

This profile functions as an alternative external corner trim with a beveled corner appearance.

Decking

This decking showcases a modern, minimalist outdoor design with a sleek, architectural feel. The dark-toned boards resemble charred timber decking, inspired by the traditional Japanese technique known as Shou Sugi Ban (also called Yakisugi). This process involves carefully charring the surface of wood to enhance its durability, texture, and visual character.
